What we collect
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and optionally your phone number and what your message is about. We also record the date and the IP address the message was sent from, which helps us spot spam and abuse.
When you browse
Like almost every website, our servers see your IP address and basic details about your browser when a page loads. We use the IP address for a short time to stop abuse (for example, limiting how many messages can be sent in a few minutes) and to count article views without counting the same person twice. These are held in memory for at most an hour and aren’t saved with your name or email.
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs for security and to keep the site running.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your message, and to keep a record of what we discussed.
- To fix listings when you tell us something is wrong.
- To protect the site from spam, abuse and attacks.
Trailers, ticket sites and links
Trailers and videos play through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube doesn’t set cookies until you press play. Once a video plays, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
Showtimes and “Book tickets” links take you to cinema and ticketing sites, and reviews link to the publications that wrote them. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and what you do there is between you and them.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages for as long as we need them to deal with your request and keep a sensible record of it, and no longer than two years unless the law requires otherwise. You can ask us to delete your message sooner.
Your choices and rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and withdraw your consent to us using it. To do any of these, use our contact form and tell us the email address you used when you wrote to us.
We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Sacred Chank Productions is meant for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has sent us their details, let us know and we’ll delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
